Chelsea O’Donnell Arrested for Child Neglect and Drug Possession

Chelsea Belle O’Donnell, the 27-year-old daughter of comedian Rosie O’Donnell, was arrested on September 17, 2024, facing serious charges including child neglect and drug possession. The arrest came after police responded to a domestic dispute call at her home in Marinette, Wisconsin, on September 10.

According to court documents, Chelsea was charged with four felony counts: maintaining a drug trafficking place, child neglect, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of THC. Additionally, she faced misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct/domestic abuse and possession of illegally obtained prescription drugs.

The police report detailed disturbing findings at Chelsea’s residence. Officers discovered a meth pipe with residue in Chelsea’s pocket and observed her dilated pupils. Inside the home, they found “horrible” living conditions, including a meth bong and pipe easily accessible to a small child. Shockingly, drug paraphernalia, including used hypodermic needles, was found under the child’s crib and in the child’s bedroom.

The report also indicated evidence of drug trafficking and a meth cooking setup. Officers noted that Chelsea and her boyfriend, Jacob Nelund, appeared more concerned with their drug addiction than providing a safe environment for their 11-month-old son.

Ongoing Legal Troubles and Family History

Chelsea’s legal troubles didn’t end with the September arrest. On October 10, she was involved in another incident where she allegedly attempted to dispose of a meth pipe during a traffic stop. This led to additional charges, including possession of meth, bail jumping, and possession of narcotics.

These incidents are part of a longer history of struggles for Chelsea. Rosie O’Donnell’s representative stated:

“Sadly, this is not new for our family — Chelsea has struggled with drug addiction for a decade — we are all hopeful she will find her way out of this deadly disease.”

Chelsea’s troubled past includes being reported missing by Rosie in 2015 when she was 17, only to be found days later in the home of an alleged drug dealer. In 2016, she was hospitalized for a reported drug overdose.
