Angelina Jolie Drops Legal Battle With FBI

Angelina Jolie drops a legal battle with the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigations), which involved records related to the investigation into her ex-husband Brad Pitt.

Angelina has publicly confirmed she had the case filed under the pseudonym “Jane Doe”. The records of the case had the following file read:

“The parties to this action hereby stipulate to dismiss this action with prejudice, with each party to bear its own fees and costs.”

The individual case was filed in 2022, which was a Freedom of Information Act request with the FBI in 2021. The specific request is regarding records into the FBI investigation into Brad Pitt. One incident in the lawsuit was on a private plane on September 14, 2016.
While “Brangelina” has been an iconic relationship in Hollywood since they began dating in 2005, it has been a turbulent marriage according too Angelina.
Angelina claims Brad had grabbed her by the head, and has even choked one of their children and hit another.
Brad has repeatedly denied these allegations, and his lawyer, Anne Kiley, had made a statement regarding the allegations:

“Brad has owned everything he’s responsible for from day one — unlike the other side — but he’s not going to own anything he didn’t do. He has been on the receiving end of every type of personal attack and misrepresentation.”

She added, “Thankfully, the various public authorities the other side has tried to use against him over the past six years have made their own independent decisions. Brad will continue to respond in court as he has consistently done.”

Both the FBI and the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services investigated the incidents. However, a FBI spokesperson announced no charges would be brought against Brad in 2016.
In the original lawsuit made by Angelina, she claimed the FBI never made contact with her before making the public announcement. Furthermore, the lawsuit also stated:
“[Angelina] was not informed of the FBI’s closure of the investigation prior to the public statement, nor was she informed of the FBI’s reasons for closing the investigation or making the unusual decision to publicly announce the closure of the investigation, despite the statutory obligation to provide victims earliest possible notice of the status of an investigation,”
“Brangelina” began after meeting on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith, where they started dating shortly after. The couple finally married in 2014, but the honeymoon was short lived. The couple divorced in 2017 and was finalized in 2019.
While “Brangelina” has been an iconic celebrity couple, Angelina seems to be closing the book on her side by dropping the lawsuit.
