Billy played Miley’s father on the show, playing a fictitious version of his real-life country singer persona. The show, along with his music, made him an extremely wealthy man. However, a new report claims Billy Ray Cyrus has lost roughly half of his wealth in one year alone.
In Touch Weekly reported a net worth of $20 million in 2023. However, according to Celebrity Net Worth, Cyrus’ wealth is now just $10 million in 2024. His most significant hit to his bank account came from his divorce from Australian singer Firerose in June 2024, wihch included an annulment request. Furthermore, he also had a highly publicized divorce from Miley’s mother, Tish, in 2023. Both divorces have made a major impact on his bank account.
Billy Ray Cyrus Personal Life
Cyrus is no stranger to marriage, having been married three times, all ending in a similar fashion. He first married Cindy Smith from 1986-1991. Following his divorce with Cindy, he married Rish in 1993. This marriage was by far his most successful, being married for three decades and had three children together – Miley, Noah, and Braison.
Miley has reportedly been estranged from her famous father. Tish and Billy faced turbulent times in 2013, and Tish filed for divorce. However, the couple reconciled, and the case was ultimated dismissed. A few years later, Tish files again in 2022 after being separated for two years, which was finalized the following year.
Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose Messy Divorce
Shortly after his divorce to Tish, Billy married Firerose in October 2023. This marriage was short lived as he filed for divorce just six months later. He cited irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct as his reasoning. He has requested the court to grant an outright annulment, claiming the marriage was obtained by fraud.
According to LA Times, Cyrus accused Firerose of racking up more than $96,000 worth of purchases on his personal and business credit cards. These purchases hurt Cyrus’s wealth dramatically. Firerose also accused Cyrus of verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse.
The divorce reached new levels of tension in late July after the Daily Mail published an audio clip of an argument between Cyrus and Firerose. Cyrus can be heard calling her an “idiot”, and. a”selfish f– b–“. Thankfully, with the divorce behind them, they are both looking to move forward in their lives, without one another.
