Sophie Turner Opens Up About Being a Single Mother

Sophie Turner, star actress on hit television series Game of Thrones, has recently opened up about her divorce with pop star Joe Jonas. Joe filed for divorce in 2023 after four years of marriage, which were filled with irreconcilable differences. This divorce has led to Sophie facing the hardships of being a single mother.

In a recent interview with Sunday Times, Sophie opens up about being a single mother:

“If I hadn’t been a mother, I don’t know if I would have been able to bring the same energy that I did into it. It’s such a struggle being a single mother. Joan doesn’t go about it in the best way … but it is amazing to see her really fighting for her daughter.

It’s also really important for kids to see just how hard parents work for them. There’s so much shame that comes with motherhood. You go to work, you’re shamed. If you don’t go to work, you’re shamed.”

Sophie’s role as Joan Hannington in the upcoming TV series should serve as an inspiration to single mothers. She notes that her character’s approach may not be ideal, but it’s incredible seeing her fight for her daughter. This role inspired Sophie during her divorce, giving her strength during the challenging period in her life. Sophie opens up about being a single mother mostly due to her role in this television series.
